Ayurvedic Medicine - Doshas

Ayurvedic Medicine

Ayurveda, an ancient holistic approach to wellness, originated in India over 5,000 years ago. The concept of Ayurveda is natural and simple – it is based on the principles of living in harmony with the cycles and rhythms of nature while balancing the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of life.

According to Ayurveda, health exists when there is a balance between the five great elements of earth, air, fire, water and ether, and the doshas, biological energies that are believed to govern the physiology, psychology and energies of the body.

In this episode, Dr. Suhas and Manisha Kshirsagar share the secrets of Ayurvedic Medicine. Viewers will learn how to determine whether their dosha is a Vàtta, Pitta or Kapha, how to select the best foods, spices and exercises which will contribute to overall balance and wellness, and why eating, exercising, and living in harmony with one’s dosha is essential to health and living in balance.
